Join the cultural conversations between Chilean and Chinese students
"Chile | China Global Conversations about Art and Culture" is the name of a series of talks that will virtually bring together students from UC Chile and Tsinghua University.
Thanks to this initiative, students from both countries will know each other and learn about each culture without moving abroad.
The cycle is framed within the "Internationalization at Home" program of the Office of the Vice President for International Affairs. It promotes global interaction within university campuses.
"The initiative Chile | China Global Conversations invites students to exchange cultural experiences about both countries. It will allow participants to talk and understand other realities through themes such as theater, music, and film," explains Florencia Roncone, Coordinator of Internationalization at Home.
On this occasion, undergraduate and graduate students from UC Chile with their peers from Tsinghua University will discuss cultural topics of both countries, such as performing arts, popular expressions, myths, legends, festivals, theater, film, documentaries, and television programs.
"We have designed the activity as a space for socializing. It is an invitation to know each other, exchange ideas, and participate in an activity that mixes academics with something more enjoyable. It is a good opportunity for those who want to practice their English, or to learn more about our cultures," explains Cristian Fernandez, Master of Arts student.
Each conversation will be held virtually on Thursdays at 10 AM (Chile) / 9 PM (China), from November 11th to December 2nd, 2021.
The discussions are aimed at undergraduate and graduate students, where participants can enroll according to their topic of interest.
