UC Chile's School of Management has set a new milestone by becoming the first management school in Chile to earn the four most prestigious international accreditations:
This achievement highlights the school's commitment to educational excellence and its capacity to prepare global business leaders.
The joint accreditation process by AMBA & BGA involved a thorough evaluation conducted on June 24 and 25, 2024. During this period, international peer evaluators assessed five key areas:
As a result, UC Chile’s School of Management received a five-year accreditation—the highest possible term—becoming the only management school in Chile to hold both AMBA and BGA accreditations simultaneously.
"International accreditations reflect the continuous efforts of our School and all its collaborators. These are achieved through our pursuit of excellence in everything we do, showcasing the quality of our faculty, students, and their commitment to our mission of knowledge creation and education," stated José Tessada, Director of the School of Business Administration.
"Accreditations provide us with the opportunity to learn from best practices and participate in discussions that shape the future of business education worldwide. They push us to keep advancing, not just to retain them, but to continue educating and leading," he added.
The AMBA accreditation is a global standard for quality in MBA and postgraduate management programs, with only 2% of business schools worldwide achieving this distinction. This exclusive accreditation is limited to just 300 institutions globally.
Meanwhile, BGA focuses on responsible management, social impact, and lifelong learning, ensuring that accredited institutions promote these essential areas. Students in BGA-accredited programs gain access to a broad array of services, including career development support at national and international levels, networking events, and professional development seminars.
The AMBA & BGA evaluation team included renowned academic and professional leaders:
This recognition opens up new opportunities for students and graduates to connect with a global network of excellence, enabling them to grow in an international academic environment.
This honor comes as the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences celebrates its 100th anniversary and the 30th anniversary of its MBA program.
With these four accreditations, UC Chile’s School of Business Administration not only strengthens its place among the world’s leading business schools but also commits to raising educational standards in Chile and beyond.
